Welcome to Open European Blokart Cup
Blokart-TEAM France is delighted to accommodate all the runners, their
families and friends for the Open European Blokart Cup - 2005 Edition.
This new edition will be held from Friday 11th till Sunday 13th of November
in Saint-Malo, France.
Saint-Malo, fortified city
This touristic city was selected for to the quality of its beach, its
cosmopolitan and international accomodation capacities as we want this
event to be and the cultural welth related to its corsair history.
Saint-Malo offers also other assets: the harbor for the ferries arriving
from several British Islands, perfect road, railway and airplane connections.
The city is also well adapted to disabled.
Departures, arrivals and courses are located on the beach near the downtown
area along the esplanade of Sillon. The spectators will be offered the
best point of view and the participants will be able to discover the
richness of the fortified city.
The races will take place in the morning giving you free time every
afternoon.
Excellent moments for integration during 2 evening party’s organized
by Blokart Cup. You, your family and friends are of course welcome.
By offering this program and this new destination to you, we hope to
offer an excellent moment of a friendly and sporting meeting, the opportunity
to discover with your family and friends the area of Brittany and also
a maritime and historical heritage around the fortified city of Saint-Malo.
The Race
One Design
Blokart is a "One Design" or monotypic kart. All races of
the European Blokart Cup are strictly limited to blokarts within Production
and Performance category. Blokarts running in the Performance category
can be equipped only with Blokart accessories following the regulations
of the "Rules of Monotype Blokart" published by Blokart Association
Inc and available on request.
Participants
With an aim of receiving the greatest number of competitors, this edition
will gather all international teams. Handicapped and valid will race
equally following the common rules given by the Race Committee . Everyone
will be integrated in the same classification without any distinctions.
Race Committee and organization of the race
Will be held by Surf School, technical contractor of the event and partner
of Blokart-TEAM France. The Director of the Race will be known soon.
The Briefings will be both in French and in English. Specific translations
could be made on request in Italian, Spanish, German and Polish.
Prizes and rewards
1st, 2nd and 3rd place of each category and division will receive a
prize. Many goodies will reward all the candidates. A "special"
podium will be formed by team and the most "original" candidate
will receive a particular distinction.
Description
The layout of the race will be positioned according to the wind's conditions
along the hard sand of the beach of Sillon . With a curve shape, it
will allow to contain one or more baffles to give a more exciting passage
of the marks. The organization reserves the right to evolve or move
the course to make the race more practicable.
Timing of the races
Members of the Races Committee will point each passage. Timing will
be carried out in electronic form. The lap will last approximately 30
minutes with some 10 minutes breaks. The durations can be modified according
to requirements of the committee to offer the runners the greatest number
of laps and to the spectators the most spectacular race.
Form of the race
The 2 classes "Production" and "Performance" are
divided into 4 categories of weight. The runners are eligible only with
one single classification per person. The 11th of November (Friday)
at the end of the last lap, a committee will be elected among the candidates
to treat all protests and to assist the director of race in his mission.

According to the agreements of partnership, the runners are committed
to accept any affixing stickers on their sails and/or on their blokarts.
These stickers are made out of nonpermanent and light adhesive.
Inscriptions
For reasons of safety and organization, the registered number of blokarts
will be limited.
The chronological principle of the inscriptions is retained. In the
event of litigation, the international candidate will have the priority.
The inscriptions is final only with the reception of the integral payment
by the organizer. The runners have obligation to provide an insurance
certificate of responsibility to the third. In the moment of not-presentation,
a possibility will be offered on place.
Hiring blokarts – and spear parts
There is a limited number of blokarts that could be rented for the weekend.
We ask you to provide your sails. Please contact us for more details.
Priority have international candidates.
A workshop will be at your disposal in the buildings of Surfing School
and during its schedules of opening, for any technical intervention
of your blokart. Spare parts and accessories will be available at "Blokart
Shop" during these 3 days.
