		28 september through 4 october The blokart Association inc. would like to welcome competitors and their family and friends, to the inaugural World blokart Championships. We invite you to enter in the spirit of fair play, and enjoy six days and nights of world-class racing, workshops and off-track fun. Enjoy food and drinks in the company of competitors from around the world at the welcome bbq on Sunday afternoon, and the fully catered off-site celebration function on the Friday night, covered in your entry fee. Join other competitors experiencing the hospitality of the stunning region, or around impromptu byo (food and drink) bbq’s, each week night. Lunches will be available for purchase each day, from our sponsor’s on site: Subway Papamoa. Every competitor will go in the draw to win a 2008 Sport 4.0 and very impressive spot prizes (entries are capped at 150 competitors). Get your entry in before 1 August will also go in the draw for some fantastic blokart performance products as well. First-place-getters will walk away with a custom POD, as well as the title of WORLD CHAMPION – and the trophy to prove it! This is going to be a fantastic event. 		Blokart open de France 2008! Dear Blokarters, The time has almost come to retrace our pilgrimage to the near Mecca of European Blokarting, La Franqui, in the South of France. This year's French Blokart Open Championships will be held between the 30th May and the 1st June. Last years howling winds, spectacular scenery, hot competition and good weather made it a very special and fun event. We are hoping to at least match the success of last year, although circumstances are a little different. There will be no title sponsor this year and all is being organised by enthusiasts and Blokart fanatics such as Philippe Lacoste and Santiago Oliver to mention but a few. Volunteer work is being carried out in Belgium, France, the UK, Spain and Holland to rally competitors to the event, by fantastic people who love the sport and want to see it thrive. THANK YOU! 		Blokart championships on ice! The official 2008 Lithuanian Ice-Blokart Championship will take place 23th and 24th February in Nida, Curonian Spit (on the UNESCO list), Lithuania. 		Early may a handfull of blokart sailers from all corners of the world, will travel to Mongolië to start their raid through the Gobi desert. The blokart riders aim is to compete and travel 2000km across Mongolia’s Gobi Desert only powered by the wind in their Blokarts in just 8 days. Along the way they will be living like nomads enjoying the hospitality of the local population living in traditional Mongolian yurts. After heading to Beijing then onto Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia’s capital, the expedition will begin on 1 May 2007. Coming from Europe (UK, France and Holland) and New Zealand, the home of the blokart, we will be supported by a four-wheel drive with a cook and a translator. 		At the end of january a discbrake for the blokart is available. The discbrake is fitted to the front wheel, the use is exacly as riding on a bike with a hand-brake; on the handle bar; easy!! The discbrake set is available for all blokarts and consists of: caliper, rotor, lever, cable, fork, and fittings, the front wheel is excluded. Blokarts with a new front wheel with rotor mounts (see image)are suiteble to put the disc brake on directly. Blokarts with an other type of front wheel require a new wheel. 		The Blokart freestyle Festival will be on Sonderstrand ( Blokart Heaven) on the 2nd of July, organized by the Danish blokart association, in conjunction with The Danish Blokart Performance Team, the Romo Tourist Office and WindToysDK.com. Never heard of a blokart? come and see what crazy things we can do, like sailing on two wheels, stopping on two wheels, spinning, 180 and 360's and plenty of others. New tricks to be seen for the first time in the world. The Danish Blokart Performance Team will be present to show you their routines and on hand to chat and generally show off. Blokarts have been described as having only three wheels, no brakes and Gods hand on the accelerator. Can easily and safely be sailed by a 6 yr old and the only upper age limit is set by you. As the blokart uses hand steering it comes very naturally and we will have you sailing yourself in 5 minutes.
